Help on sattlelite PLEASE
we have never had a dish..We are going to camp host in a remote area w/full hu.........HOW do I start to proceed with geting a dish...(not roof mounted) and service and whatever?? I am clueless..We dont want dish at main residence,just in rv...All and ANY help appreciated..Please!

To reserve a site or not?
If we do reserve a site..for how long/Do you search around then find "your" place for the winter..I noticed most of you stay at the same place year after year..Thats what we would like,home away from home,and good friends to meet up with every year.So,to reserve or not..Of course I ask this only because we are first timers...

There has to be some really good stories about your "first" time out snowbirding.....!Pitfalls,....things you forgot to do at home before leaving,Forgotten items,hitting really bad weather:E,come on,lets hear your stories..Every story is a learning experience for us "first timers"...So lets dish!!:B

No awning on slide???
We have just bought a fiver with a slide..Love it to death,but,it does not have an awning over the slideout..Should I be concerned about this...Am I at more risk of water damage without one???

Shirley makes a great point. What are you looking for. My first trip to the Valley found us at a small but nice RV Park in Brownsville where we stayed for two weeks. It turned out to be NOT what my Wife and I were looking for. We then went to Florida and Arizona to check out other locations.
My Wife reluctantly agreed to come back to the RGV for another try. Our second spot was Victoria Palms. After going there for three years we decided that it is not just the RGV that is attractive to us, but our RV Park.
This park has what we are looking for. I suggest you decide what YOU are looking for and find a park that is a good match. State what it is that you want and folks here will help you out..............
We want paved sites,cable tv and a pool,hot tub

Rain in RGV? 3in???!!!!!
Is this normal? Is it like this in the winter months??My goodness thats ALOT of rain..No wonder some reviews said RV parks are a mudhole....I dont care for rain,at least not 3 in in one day!!!Goodness gracious!!:E

Arizona thread was ALOT of help to me..This is great info for us first timers..I was thinking of Benson Ariz....but one member said pipes froze,watch elevation....Sooooooo Texas snowbirds,help us first timers out!~LOve the knowledge you have to share!!:B

Toilet riser,need help
My 86 yr old mom has decided to take the plunge and go rving with us,I desperately!! need some source to buy a riser for toliet..I cannot get the one that goes on bottom near floor...all the ones she has for home use fit on top,even handrails might help,but all I can find are way to wide to fit..Do you know of a place to order somethimg!!! Email very welcome...
